01

Who is responsible

Gerald Leckie is responsible for personal information collected through geraldleckie.com. This policy covers this website and initial business inquiries. A separate agreement or privacy notice may apply if we later work together on a project.

For privacy questions or requests, email contact@geraldleckie.com with ‘Privacy request’ in the subject line.

02

Information collected

When you use the inquiry form, you provide your name, email address, selected service, preferred timing, and project message. You may also provide a business or organization name. If you select an audience on the homepage, that selection accompanies your inquiry. An email sent directly to Gerald includes the information you choose to share and ordinary email headers.

The hosting infrastructure processes technical information needed to serve and protect the website, such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, request time, and errors. The contact endpoint uses your IP address to limit repeated submissions. Please avoid including passwords, financial account details, health records, or other sensitive or third-party personal information in an initial inquiry.

03

How information is used

Inquiry information is used to respond, understand your needs, assess whether Gerald can help, prepare a proposal, and maintain relevant business correspondence. Technical information is used to operate the website, investigate faults, and prevent abuse.

Sending an inquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter. This website does not sell personal information or use inquiry details for targeted advertising. Any separate marketing subscription would need its own clear choice. Where a legal basis is required, processing may rely on steps you request before a contract, a legitimate interest in operating and securing the site, consent where required, or a legal obligation.

04

Service providers and sharing

Cloudflare provides the production website hosting, network protection, Turnstile spam checks, and contact-form email processing. Turnstile processes technical signals from your browser and connection to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. Submitted inquiries are delivered to Gerald’s business email account and handled by its email or forwarding provider. These providers process information to supply their services. The form does not create a separate customer database on this website, and its application code does not log message contents.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, investigate misuse, or respond to a valid legal request. Provider infrastructure and email processing may be located outside your country, where privacy laws may differ. You can contact Gerald for information about the providers currently handling your inquiry.

05

Cookies and browser storage

This website does not currently use advertising cookies, third-party audience analytics, or social-media tracking pixels. Its fonts, images, and videos are served with the site. The inquiry form keeps unsent text in the current page; it does not save that text to local storage.

Hosting security features may use technical cookies when needed to protect the site. You can manage cookies through your browser, although blocking technical cookies may affect security checks. This policy will be updated if optional analytics or marketing technologies are introduced, with consent controls where required.

06

Retention and security

Inquiry correspondence is kept only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, manage a resulting business relationship, resolve disputes, or meet applicable record-keeping requirements. Provider logs and backups follow their own service retention settings. Information is deleted or anonymized when it is no longer needed, subject to legal requirements and backup cycles.

The website uses HTTPS in production, restricted email recipients, input validation, and measures to limit form abuse. No internet service or email system can guarantee absolute security. Please arrange an appropriate secure channel before sharing confidential project material.

07

Your choices and requests

You can choose not to submit the form. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may be entitled to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent where processing depends on it; this does not affect earlier lawful processing. Some information may need to be retained for legal or contractual reasons.

Email contact@geraldleckie.com to make a request. Gerald may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity before responding. You may also raise a concern with the privacy authority responsible for your jurisdiction.
